About This Program

School Readiness in Ipoh, Perak

Our School Readiness Program at YOUNGFERNS Ipoh prepares children aged 4–6 for the big step into kindergarten or Primary 1. Many little ones are bright and curious but still need help with the everyday school skills, sitting through a lesson, lining up, listening to a teacher, putting up their hand and finishing a task on their own.

Led by our Special Needs Teachers and early-years educators, the programme blends play and structure to grow these school-survival skills gradually, so the move into a mainstream classroom feels exciting rather than overwhelming, for both the child and the family.

What Happens in a Session?

Sessions follow a predictable classroom-style routine, circle time, table activities, a short break and tidy-up, so children practise the rhythm of a real school day. We work on sitting tolerance, pencil grip and pre-writing, recognising letters and numbers, following two-step instructions, turn-taking and independence skills like packing a bag. Progress is shared with parents every month with clear next steps.
