Not a test, a clear progress report. YfDI is our own reporting framework that captures what your child is actually learning, and shows you how they grow month after month, here in Ipoh, Perak.
The YfDI (YoungFerns Functional Development Index) is a progress reporting framework we built right here at YOUNGFERNS, not a one-off test. As your child takes part in our EIP and therapy sessions, we quietly capture what they're working on and how they're doing, then turn it into a report you can actually read.
Every YfDI report gathers the real data from your child's week-to-week sessions and organises it across the areas that matter, writing, numbers, thinking skills, behaviour and self-care. Each skill is marked with a simple status, so you can see at a glance what's mastered, what's emerging and what we're still working on together.
Best of all, YfDI shows change over time. Because we report the same skills month after month, you can compare (say) January with April and see exactly how far your child has come, in plain language you can share with teachers and paediatricians across Ipoh and Perak.

There's no exam day and no pressure on your child. YfDI simply turns what already happens in our classrooms and therapy rooms into a clear picture of progress.
Our teachers and therapists record how your child does on each skill during their normal weekly sessions, no separate testing, no stress.
Each skill gets a simple weekly status, organised by area, writing, number, cognitive, behaviour and self-care, so nothing gets lost.
We bring it together into a plain-language report that compares one period with the next, celebrates the wins and sets the next goals.
